In the 1970s, a young poet named Sara leaves her artist husband and moves to San Francisco, where she works at a wig-dye company run by the eccentric and charming Al. Though she initially dismisses him, Sara is drawn to his wit, optimism, and shared love of music, and their relationship deepens as they travel together and he meets her family. As Sara begins to question whether she truly wants this life, her doubts about Al grow—fearing he may be a con man rather than a dreamer—until her suspicions are confirmed when the FBI arrives. Surrounded by colorful characters, Sara is pulled into a risky, surreal journey that tests her judgment and survival.
